Detroit Mercy’s STEM Learning Community presents a faculty workshop, “Linguistic Discrimination and Creating Culturally Relevant Pedagogies to Support All Students’ Expository Writing Practice,” with special guest Staci Perryman-Clark.
The free workshop will be held virtually Friday, Jan. 20 from 3-4 p.m.
Perryman-Clark is a professor of English and African American studies and the director of the Institute for Intercultural and Anthropological Studies, housed within the College of Arts and Sciences, at Western Michigan University.
She has received numerous awards and honors from WMU, including the 2022 University Award for Excellence in Diversity and Inclusion.
Interested participants are asked to register in advance.
The workshop is presented by ReBUILDetroit’s Learning Community, within the College of Engineering & Sciences.
