The Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency (MVAA) started the Michigan Veteran Friendly designation in 2015-16 and for the ninth-straight year, Detroit Mercy has once again been awarded Gold Friendly Status for 2023-24.
The Michigan Veteran-Friendly School program is designed to formally recognize academic institutions of higher learning committed to supporting the needs of student veterans and dependents.
In 2023, 47 institutions earned Gold-status, including Detroit Mercy. Any academic institution or training facility in Michigan eligible to receive veteran education benefits can apply for the program.
