The Barbie movie has been celebrated as a feminist manifesto, decried as anti-male propaganda and criticized as “faux feminism.” But its impact and reach as a pop culture sensation are undeniable.
Why? What about the movie is striking a chord with so many women? Why is it making some viewers uncomfortable? Does it go far enough in its feminist message? Is it a feminist movie at all?
