Spotlight: Civil Engineering students contribute to Michigan public transit technology guidebook

Peter and Jokic were part of a Detroit Mercy team led by Professor of Mathematics and Computer Science Xiauhui Zhong and Professor of Civil, Architectural and Environmental Engineering Utpal Dutta. The team worked on a project funded by the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) to develop a guidebook to help public transit agencies implement new technologies that improve public transportation efficiency, service reliability and the rider experience statewide.

The University served as a partner on the MDOT project and is recognized on the cover of the Transit Agency Guidebook.

Peter and Dutta are currently working to train transit agencies to effectively use the guide.
