Biggest Loser returns to the Fitness Center with new challenges

Sign up for the seventh annual Detroit Mercy Biggest Loser competition and shave those holiday pounds! Registration is $25 per person and is due before Thursday, Jan. 31. Participants can create a team of three to six people or enter as a free agent and be assigned to a team. Email Matt Chesley at cheslemd@udmercy.edu to enter.

The Biggest Loser competition uses weight loss percentage to determine rankings. Individuals can weigh at the Fitness Center (discreetly) on Wednesdays between 7 a.m. and 8 p.m. and Thursdays between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. Rankings will be posted on Friday morning at the top of the stairs of the second floor.

This year, the competition offers non-scale “victories” through weekly challenges. The first challenge:

“If every member of your team signs up for the Go Move Challenge on Friday, Feb. 1, your team will gain a one pound advantage on the next weigh in.”

During the competition, the Student Fitness Center is also offering two personal training deals: pay for five sessions, get six or pay for ten sessions, get 12.
