Celebrate Spirit with the Detroit Mercy community in the official welcoming event of the new school year on Thursday, Sept. 14 at 11:30 a.m.
The event, held at the Student Fitness Center on the McNichols Campus, is part of a long tradition dating back to European universities from the Middle Ages. At the Celebrate Spirit Mass, we call on God’s spirit for inspiration and blessing as the new academic school year begins. All are welcome!
The visiting presider for the Celebrate Spirit Mass is Fr. Damian Torres-Botello, S.J.
Following the Mass, lunch will be provided at 1 p.m. There will be a special menu for students in the Titan Dining Room and a simple lunch available for all persons without a meal plan.
