Detroit Mercy Law’s Conviction Integrity Clinic will hold a candid discussion on wrongful convictions titled “Injustice Revealed: Stories of Wrongful Conviction and Exoneration,” on Wednesday, Oct. 7, from 5-7 p.m., at Detroit Mercy Law, the Riverfront Campus Room 226.
Pulitzer Prize-winning author Gilbert King will lead a thought-provoking conversation about his acclaimed book, Bone Valley: A True Story of Injustice and Redemption in the Heart of Florida. Michigan exonerees will also share their personal experiences with wrongful conviction, incarceration and exoneration. Together, the panel will explore the human cost of injustice and the critical role that lawyers and communities play in advancing justice.
Presented as part of UDM’s 150th anniversary celebration, this powerful discussion reflects the University’s commitment to service, justice and community engagement while highlighting how persistence in the pursuit of truth can help bring wrongful convictions to light.
All are welcome to attend this event, and a reception will follow the program in the atrium.
