Professor of History Roy E. Finkenbine presented at national webinar, informing and mobilizing efforts to designate September as International Underground Railroad Month. The event was co-sponsored by the National Park Service, the Maryland Office of Tourism and the Michigan Freedom Trail Commission.
Finkenbine was also recently chosen to participate in a dramatic reading of Frederick Douglass’s 1852 speech, “What to the Slave is the Fourth of July.” The online event was sponsored, coordinated and edited by the National Park Service.
