Honduran activist Reynaldo Dominguez is the special guest speaker at a Carney Latin American Solidarity Archive (CLASA) event Thursday, April 20 at 7 p.m. in the Student Union Ballroom.
A virtual option of the event is also available for those who cannot attend.
Dominguez is trying to save the Aguan Valley from pollution due to mining. The event will also have remarks by Elaine Carey, previous director of CLASA.
The talk is in honor of the 40th anniversary of the disappearance of Fr. James “Guadalupe” Carney and is the second of two talks on April 20 hosted by CLASA at the University.
Baleadas, a national dish of Honduras, will be served prior to the event at 6:30 p.m. It’s free and open to the public.
