Detroit Mercy Titans men’s basketball player Antoine Davis was recognized as this week’s 2018-19 Nike “Freshman of the Week,” according to the Horizon League.
Davis put himself on the national stage in the first week, averaging 31 points and posting back-to-back 30-point games on the road, while shooting 48.9 percent from the field and 44.4 percent from behind the arc.
The Titans guard from Birmingham, Ala., started his collegiate career with a team-high of 32 points with six triples against Western Michigan, the most points ever by a Titan freshman, and the second-most points ever by a Titan in their first game. He is the first Titan to post back-to-back 30-point outings since Jon Goode in 2007-08. #HLMBB
