The Michigan Consortium for Israel Studies is offering the opportunity of a lifetime for undergraduate students of any discipline to explore the Holy Land, including excursions to Jerusalem, Nazareth and the Dead Sea.
A virtual informational session on the study abroad trip to Israel will be held Monday, Feb. 21 at 7 p.m.
Undergraduate students from six Michigan colleges and universities, including Detroit Mercy, are eligible to participate in the program, which is administered by Eastern Michigan University. The trip to Israel is set for June 7-July 7, 2022.
Two EMU courses are required: Imagining the Holy Land (three credits) and City Lab: Experiencing Tel Aviv (three credits). Students will reside at Tel Aviv University, then journey across Israel.
Thanks to an extraordinary gift from the Nora and Guy Barron Fund for Israel Study Abroad, each student participant will receive approximately $5,000 towards travel expenses for the trip.
Following the virtual information sessions, students interested in taking the trip should contact Lara Wasner, the University’s study abroad coordinator, at wasnerle@udmercy.edu to learn more about the application process, deadlines and other important information.
