James Boynton, S.J., will speak on “What is a Jesuit Brother Anyway?” Jesuit brothers have been a valuable part of the Society of Jesus since the founding of the order, but what does this look like today? Brother Boynton will share his insights into the role of Jesuit brothers in our Church today and his real-life experience at the University of Detroit Jesuit as a teacher and now as a president.
Brother Boynton is the 30th President of the University of Detroit Jesuit High School and Academy. He devoted many years of his ministry to missionary work in northern India, Mexico and Haiti and with migrant workers in northern Michigan. He served in many roles at Saint Ignatius High School in Cleveland before joining the University of Detroit Jesuit staff in 2006.
