Law’s 111th annual Red Mass set for Sept. 12

Join Detroit Mercy Law and the legal community in celebrating the 111th annual Red Mass at 12 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 12 at Ss. Peter & Paul Jesuit Church.

Red Mass is an occasion for judges, attorneys, civic leaders and law students of all faiths to come together and pray for blessings and strength in the coming year’s work.

This year’s Red Mass will be celebrated by Archbishop Allen H. Vigneron, Archdiocese of Detroit. Fr. John Maksym, of the St. Peter Catholic Church in Mount Clemens, serves as the Homilist.

The Honorable Stephanie Dawkins Davis of the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit will lead the Renewal of the Lawyer’s Oath of Commitment.

A luncheon reception immediately follows the service in the atrium at Detroit Mercy Law.
