Due to the high number of COVID-19 cases, the extreme transmissibility of the Omicron variant, and to ensure the health and safety of all students, faculty and staff, the first two weeks of winter semester at the McNichols Campus will take place virtually. If conditions allow, the McNichols Campus will return to fully in-person classes on Jan. 24.
Students are allowed to return to the residence halls as scheduled. Residential students will be required to submit a negative PCR COVID-19 test 48 hours prior to returning to campus. We also ask that if you are able, stay home and delay your return to campus until classes resume in person. Residential students will receive communication via email from the Office of Residence Life with instructions on submitting your test results.
The Titan Dining Room, Fitness Center and McNichols Library will be open, as will all other McNichols Campus buildings.
Students should expect to hear from their professors concerning arrangements for clinical rotations, performance classes, lab or studio classes.
The School of Law and School of Dentistry are making their own arrangements and have communicated them to their students, staff and faculty.
As the pandemic enters this new stage, we are also carefully reviewing other COVID-related guidelines and will announce these changes through email and at udmercy.edu/titanstogether as decisions are made. In the meantime, we encourage everyone to consider using KN95 masks in place of cloth ones. The University is also planning to hold a COVID-19 booster clinic on the McNichols Campus soon. Again, all this will be communicated through email and the University website.
