The Center for Career & Professional Development launched Handshake as its new online recruitment system for fall 2021. The new system replaces TitanCareerLink, powered by Purple Briefcase.
All current Detroit Mercy students have access to search Handshake for on-campus student employment, co-op/internships, and part-time and full-time career-related positions. Top employers, including Fortune 500 companies, recruit students through Handshake, giving Detroit Mercy students access to jobs and internships not available anywhere else.
The Center for Career & Professional Development encourages students to create their Handshake profiles and download the Handshake app to their phones so they can receive notifications for upcoming career events, messages from recruiters and job opportunities. Students can also schedule appointments with a career advisor and learn more about upcoming career events directly through Handshake.
An invitation to join Handshake has been sent to all current students at their Detroit Mercy email address with instructions on how to access their accounts. Students can also access the system by visiting Detroit Mercy’s Handshake website.
