Detroit Mercy President Antoine M. Garibaldi was a panelist at the 24th annual Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) Conference, Jan. 27. Titled, “Lessons Learned from University Leadership and Accreditors,” the panel focused on presidents and accreditors’ experiences with each other to institutionalize the values associated with self-studies and quality assessments. Dr. Garibaldi also gave remarks at the annual Association of Catholic Colleges and Universities (ACCU) meeting, Feb. 5, on a panel titled, “Talking About Race in a Catholic Context.” This panel focused on how Catholic colleges and universities can address issues of race on campus and play a larger role in the communities where they are located.
