Professor of History Roy E. Finkenbine gave a talk on “The Underground Railroad in the Detroit River Borderland,” at a symposium on “Freedom Movement: Detroit’s History in the American Underground Railroad Story,” at Wayne County Community College District’s downtown campus, Sept. 8.
Finkenbine’s book chapter, “The Underground Railroad in Indian Country: Northwest Ohio, 1795-1843,” was also recently published in Fugitive Slaves and Spaces of Freedom in North America, ed. Damian Pargas (University Press of Florida, 2018), Aug. 21.
