University of Detroit Mercy is well represented in the fall edition of Conversations on Jesuit Higher Education, now available on campus and online. The issue is devoted to two of the four Universal Apostolic Preferences announced in February 2019 by Jesuit Superior General Fr. Arturo Sosa. These preferences are to serve as a guide for Jesuits and Jesuit institutions to follow in their work through 2029. This edition focuses on the first preference, “to show the way to God through the Spiritual Exercises and discernment” and the fourth, “to collaborate in the care of our common home.”
Detroit Mercy’s Assistant to the President for Mission Integration Catherine Punsalan-Manlimos wrote about materials that help her work the Spiritual Exercises and School of Architecture Dean Dan Pitera addressed the way Detroit Mercy Architecture students are taught to listen, when working with communities. In addition, Marketing & Communications’ Ron Bernas is the editor of the national journal.
