Spring break is days away!
Here are some last-minute safety tips:
- Stay hydrated: Laying out in the sun is a great part of spring break. But make sure to drink water all day and eat regular meals to avoid dangerous dehydration.
- Drink responsibly: If you are of legal drinking age and you decide to drink, please do so responsibly. If members of your group become intoxicated, never leave them alone. If they pass out, make sure they sleep on their side to prevent choking and if their level of consciousness is too low to get a response, call 911.
- Keep your drink in your sight: Watch your drink and only accept drinks that you have watched made or poured in front of you. If you leave your drink unattended, pour it out and get a new one.
- Be aware of your surroundings: Always know how to get back to your hotel from events that you attend. Never walk alone and know your exits in crowded areas. Keep your ID on you and a small amount of cash in case of emergencies. Do not allow strangers to transport you to new events; always use carpool applications or official taxi services.
