The Department of Athletics and the Office of Title IX are hosting Pride Night on Friday, Feb. 3 with the Titan women’s basketball team hosting Green Bay from Calihan Hall.
The opening tip for the game is set for 7 p.m. between the Titans and Phoenix. All students get into the contest for free with a Detroit Mercy ID.
Proceeds from the contest support the Ruth Ellis Center, which was founded in 1999. The center has established a national reputation for quality and innovation in providing trauma-informed services for lesbian, gay, bi-attractional, transgender and questioning (LGBTQ+) youth and young adults, with an emphasis on young people of color, experiencing homelessness, involved in the child welfare system, and/or experiencing barriers to health and wellbeing.
The Office of Title IX’s mission and vision is to create a world where LGBTQ+ young people feel safe and supported no matter where they go and have a positive outlook for the future.
