Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Pamela Zarkowski was one of four speakers at the American Dental Education Association’s (ADEA) Rick Valachovic Festschrift, March 13. Zarkowski spoke about the “Virtue of Dental Education as a Learned Profession.” The event honored Valachovic’s leadership of ADEA for 22 years upon his retirement as President and CEO.
Zarkowski and Detroit Mercy Dental Assistant Dean for Student Services & Enrollment Management Juliette Daniels spoke at the American Dental Education Association’s annual session, March 18. Daniels and Zarkowski were panelists as part of a presentation titled, “Working Together to Prevent Bullying—Recognize, Address, STOP!” Zarkowski and Detroit Mercy Dental Dean Mert Aksu presented at the same meeting as part of a panel presentation, “A Practical Approach to Accommodating Students and Patients with Disabilities.”
Zarkowski was also the invited speaker for the 28th Annual Dr. Peter Fedi Periodontics Lecture at the Midwest Dental Conference, sponsored by the UMKC School of Dentistry in Kansas City, Mo. She presented, “Legal and Ethical Issues Important to Periodontal Practice” for dentists, dental hygienists and dental assistants.
