The Detroit community has been gathering for the past two years to show support and stand with their neighbors who are refugees or immigrants.
Recently, a group of students has joined in support of this effort and invite the Detroit Mercy community to stand in solidarity on Monday, Oct. 1 from 8 to 9 a.m. on the corner of McNichols and Livernois. Feel free to bring your own sign if you would like. University Ministry invites all who attend for donuts, coffee and tea in the Ministry Office following the vigil. One of the critical concerns of the Sisters of Mercy is immigration reform. Believing firmly in the dignity of every person, we work for just and humane immigration laws in the U.S., address policies that push people to flea their countries and examine the global impact of immigration.
