Student continue to “stand with their neighbors”

Group of Detroit Mercy community standing in solidarity at immigration and refugee vigil

The Detroit community has been gathering for the past two years to show support and stand with their neighbors who are refugees or immigrants. A group of students joined in this effort and stood in solidarity, Oct. 1. Working with University Ministry, these Detroit Mercy community members want to continue this event throughout the semester.

The next vigil will be on Monday, Oct. 15, from 8 to 9 a.m. on the corner of McNichols Road and Livernois Avenue. Feel free to bring your own sign. University Ministry invites all who attend for donuts, coffee and tea in the Ministry Office following the vigil. For more information, contact Anita Klueg at kluegag@udmercy.edu.
