Mike and Antoine Davis, the University’s men’s basketball legends-in-the-making are bringing a lot of national attention to our revitalized program.
Mike, the father is the new coach and brings a successful record that started with his first head coaching job at Indiana University, taking over when controversial coach Bobby Knight was fired. Antoine, the son, is one of the nation’s top scorers. So it’s natural that they are of interest to sports fans. Mike Davis also brought his oldest son, Mike Davis, Jr., to University of Detroit Mercy with him as an assistant coach, and his little brother’s biggest supporter.
We all thought this was cool earlier this month, but then Sports Illustrated came knocking on our door.
