Detroit Mercy welcomes new students to campus

Detroit Mercy orientation leaders smile and welcome students to campus.

Detroit Mercy is thrilled to welcome our new and returning students to our three campuses for the fall semester 2019! On Aug. 20, hundreds of freshmen moved into the dorms on the McNichols Campus and officially began their academic careers as our newest Titans! Dr. Antoine Garibaldi, president of the University, was there to greet new students. He stopped by each room in Shiple Hall and welcomed new students and chatted with their parents and families. The president’s tradition of greeting new students began when he first arrived on campus in 2011 and continues in earnest today. Many students and their parents were surprised and very happy to receive him as he made the trek to each floor. See our recap of the first-year service project.
