The Women’s and Gender Studies Program’s invites the Detroit Mercy community to its Feminist Scholarship Colloquium on Monday, Oct. 21 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in the Genevieve Fisk Loranger Architecture Center of the Warren Loranger Architecture Building on our McNichols Campus.
The colloquium will feature a talk on “Feminist Theory in the Practice and Pedagogy of Architecture and Design” by Professor Emerita Libby Balter Blume. Blume was the recipient of the 2018-19 WGS Feminist Scholarship Grant.
Blume’s talk will also include an overview of ten current and former SOA faculty women whose diverse chapters are included in the forthcoming book, Teaching and Designing in Detroit: Ten Women on Pedagogy and Practice, co-edited with former School of Architecture Dean Steve Vogel.
