College of Health Professions Interim Dean and McAuley School of Nursing Professor Janet Baiardi received the 2020 Nurse Practitioner of the Year Award from the Michigan Council of Nurse Practitioners for contributions to the education and development of nurse practitioners. The award, presented in September, recognizes a nurse practitioner who contributes to the advancement of the role at the local, regional, national or international level in one or more of the following areas:
- Leader in policy development and implementation
- Advocate for nurse practitioner-related legislation & regulations
- Political activist in legislation related to APRNs
- Contributes to advancement of the MICNP mission
