The University’s Employee Emergency Fund has been able to respond to more than 60 employees in their time of need during this pandemic. In the early months, many employees needed assistance as they waited to access federally-enhanced unemployment benefits. As these benefits expired, those who remained furloughed, had hours cut or had a job loss of another family member continued to struggle. Employees who have applied have asked for assistance with utility bills, unexpected medical costs, transportation and rental assistance.
As you take the time this holiday season to rest and restore, consider a year-end gift to the Employee Emergency Fund once again and help our Detroit Mercy community. Your generosity will make a difference.
