Virtual talk on racist Zoombombing, Nov. 4

The Black Abolitionist Archive and the Student Life Office will co-sponsor a virtual talk on racist Zoombombing on Nov. 4 at noon.

University of Michigan’s Hanah Stiverson and Kyle Lindsey will explore the phenomenon and what it means for us. Authors of the new book Racist Zoombombing, Stiverson and Lindsey note that it is more than just a new form of online trolling; it is a new form of racial violence.

The Detroit Mercy community experienced a racist zoombombing last winter during its Black History Month celebration.

RSVP for the talk on Detroit Mercy Live.
