The Facilities Plan Advisory Committee (FPAC) met on Nov. 10 to review campus construction progress and address questions or concerns from faculty. It was their second meeting this semester.
The Student Union renovation was among the facilities discussed and phased construction completion schedules are anticipated beginning in January and continuing through June 2022. All timelines are tentative due to the pandemic and other challenges.
The McNichols Campus bookstore is scheduled to move on Jan. 24, 2022 and as parts of the renovated Student Union are completed, departments of the Fisher Building will begin transitioning to the Student Union. These transitions will be done in coordination with each department’s schedule to minimize disruption.
Phase one of the College of Health Professions renovation, including the new STAR Center (a simulation laboratory) will begin construction in January 2022. Residence hall improvements are also set to begin in spring of 2022.
Members of the FPAC include: Steven Huprich (Psychology, Chair), Tammy Batcheller (AVP for Facilities Management & Campus Service), Nancy Calleja (Addiction & Counseling Studies), Mark Denham (Dean, CLAE), Lori Glenn (Nursing), Greg Grobis (Performing Arts), Tadd Heidgerken (Architecture), Tom Manceor (VP For Finance and Administration, CFO) and David Vandelinder (Director of Facilities Operations and Construction Management).
