Libraries social media contest: Calling all bookworms!

Libraries social media contest: Calling all bookworms!

In honor of 2022 National Library Week, which runs April 3-9, the Detroit Mercy Libraries invites students, faculty, staff and alumni to share their love of libraries and their favorite books!

Library Week 2021 Celebration GraphicWhether you’re into fiction, non-fiction, graphic novels or how-to guides, straighten up those bookshelves, showcase your favorite title(s) and strike a post to enter our “Shelfie Selfie” contest. You’ll have a shot at winning one of three Detroit Mercy Barnes & Noble Bookstore gift cards!

Here’s how it works:

  1. Take a selfie in front of or next to your personal bookshelf or reading a favorite or newly discovered book.
  2. Follow @detroitmercylibraries on Instagram.
  3. Post your photo to your Instagram and tag it with the #detroitmercylibraries hashtag (include your name in the caption). This will serve as your “entry” for the drawing.
  4. Winners will be announced the week of April 11 on Instagram.

Rules:

  • Entries will be accepted from Monday to Friday, April 4-8.
  • The contest is open to Detroit Mercy students, employees and alumni.
  • The person submitting the photo must be present in the photo.
  • Entrants may submit up to three photos.
  • By submitting photos, photographers grant the right for the library to share the selfies in the library or on the library’s social media accounts or for promotional purposes.
  • The photographer’s Instagram profile must be public (selfies won’t be entered into the drawing if library staff can’t see them!)
  • Winners will be determined by random drawing and notified via Instagram.
  • All entries must adhere to the Detroit Mercy Social Media Policy.

This promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by or associated with Instagram.
