Promote events, info on Student Union TVs with digital signage process

Looking to display an upcoming event or important information on the new televisions in the Student Union?

Detroit Mercy Marketing & Communications, in partnership with Information Technology Services (ITS), now uses a centralized system for digital signage on the McNichols Campus. The digital signage is displayed on video monitors in the Student Union and on cable TV channels in the residence halls.

MarCom reviews requested signage before submitting it to ITS for insertion on the system.

Audiences

The purpose of this signage is to communicate:

  • Event information
  • Information pertaining to important deadlines for students
  • To market information about opportunities and activities that will increase on-campus engagement

The primary audiences for digital signage includes current students, prospective new students, parents, alumni and visits to the McNichols Campus.

There’s signage guidelines in place for the Student Union TVs. All slides must include an approved Detroit Mercy logo. Spelling and style will also be taken into account on each submission. All slides that are displayed must take place on one of Detroit Mercy’s campuses, involve a campus department/organization or be an event sponsored and promoted by the University. Non-event slides are generally permitted to run for up to four weeks.

If a campus monitor is not displaying correctly, please report the issue to ITS via helpdesk@udmercy.edu or by calling 313-993-1500.
