Audition for DMTC’s show, ‘Photograph 51’

All students are welcome to audition for Detroit Mercy Theatre Company’s second mainstage show of the school year, Photograph 51, on Monday, Nov. 13 at 7 p.m. The auditions will take place in Reno Hall, Room 164.

Students auditioning for the show need to prepare a 60-90 second contemporary monologue, preferable set in the style of Photograph 51.

Set in the 1950s, the play by Anna Ziegler, explores the intense competition between scientists as they race to unravel the secrets of the double helix structure of DNA. At the heart of the story is Rosalind Franklin, a brilliant and determined scientist whose work is overlooked and undervalued due to her gender.

Photograph 51 is set to run in consecutive weekends, Feb. 9-11 and Feb. 16-18 at Marlene Boll Theatre in downtown Detroit.
