Student spotlight: CES pair present metal research in Italy

Engineering & Science undergraduate students Roxana Nistor and Hazel Song presented the results of their research in low melting metals at the FIDEM Congress conference in Florence, Italy.

FIDEM, in English, stands for International Art Medal Federation. They were the only two undergraduates who presented at the conference, which was held Oct. 10-14.

The duo also had the opportunity to meet some of the best in the world, such as Susan Taylor, the former chief engraver of the Royal Canadian Mint, along with several United States mint artists.

Song and Nistor attended the conference with Professor of Chemistry Mark Benvenuto.
