Center for Augmenting Intelligence in Urban Health discusses AI infrastructure with forum

Detroit Mercy’s Center for Augmenting Intelligence in Urban Health (CAIUH) met with representatives from Amazon Web Services (AWS) on the McNichols Campus Feb. 27-28 to mark a significant step forward in the journey towards harnessing artificial intelligence for transformative urban solutions.

The forum brought together an interdisciplinary team of professors, staff and students from various disciplines and departments with a commitment to developing AI tools that not only enhance human intelligence but also promote social equity and ensure environmental sustainability.

With the support of AWS, the forum succeeded in identifying key areas where AI can make a substantial impact on urban health outcomes. The collaboration highlighted the importance of leveraging diagnostic tools, cloud computing and advanced AI technologies to create scalable, effective solutions for health disparities in urban settings.

The center’s efforts and the forum itself were made possible in part by the generous support of the Titan Innovation Fund. The backing underscored the shared vision of utilizing innovative approaches to improve the well-being of urban communities, ensuring that the center remains at the cutting edge of ethical AI development for health.
