Nurse Anesthesiology Affiliate Program Coordinator Andrea Teitel presented on “Minimizing Risk, Maximizing Safety for Cardiac Patient Undergoing Non-Cardiac Surgery: Applying Current Standards of Pre-Operative Evaluation,” at the National Congress of the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists. Teitel is an expert on this topic, who has developed the cardiac curriculum for Detroit Mercy Nurse Anesthetist graduate students. Her presentation was also based on the many years she has spent administering anesthesia to patients undergoing heart surgery.
