Detroit Mercy Law to host property law scholar Bernadette Atuahene for discussion, Jan. 31

Harvard and Yale trained property law scholar Bernadette Atuahene and special guest Orlando Bailey, Emmy award-winning journalist and executive director of Outlier Media, will lead an evening of conversation based around Atuahene’s new book Plundered: How Racist Policies Undermine Black Homeownership in America.

Appalachia service immersion trip application deadline is Jan. 15

Service immersion trip to Joppa Mountain, Tenn., takes place during spring break, March 1-7. UDM students of all faiths or non-faiths are invited to apply for this opportunity. Participants will engage in hands-on service in the community around Joppa Mountain, including building homes, working in food pantries and learning about the systemic issues that contribute to poverty and displacement.
