Seven Detroit Mercy School of Architecture & Community Development students have been awarded 2023 scholarships from the Michigan Architectural Foundation (MAF). They comprised of more than half of the dozen scholarships handed out by MAF in 2023.
MAF awards the scholarships annually to students who are completing a bachelor’s degree program and who have been accepted or are currently enrolled in a professional program leading to a Master of Architecture degree.
The recipients from Detroit Mercy are:
- Brian Hamel, HED Alvin Ernest Harley AIAS Graduate Scholarship
- Odette Giorgees, Professional Concepts Insurance Agency (PCIA) Scholarship
- Rebecca Gladd, Paul Stachowiak & Integrated Design Solutions Scholarship
- Angel Mangham, AIA Michigan President’s Scholarship
- Larissa McCoy, Kenneth Neumann Design Scholarship; The award includes a summer internship at Neumann Smith Associates
- Marcus Puste, Leslie Tincknell Scholarship
- Giovanni Zora, Katherine and John Banicki Scholarship
MAF recently awarded 12 scholarships totaling $33,500 to the 12 recipients.
