I have been the Director of the James Carney Latin American Solidarity Archive for over 20 years now. I provide this page to the Carney archive as a backup in case the library site goes down, and also as a supplement. Mostly it provides links to information already publicly available online. Sometimes people need resources to learn about Fr. Carney, and it is hard to find good sources. Sometimes the archive itself, as part of the McNichols campus library, has some technical or access difficulties. This page can serve as a backup. For more basic information, and the latest information on our events, consult the Carney archive website at udmercy.edu/clasa
Most importantly, Fr. Carney’s autobiography is available in its entirety, for free online.
Secondly, here is a link to the finding aid for the archive collection, housed in the McNichols campus library. And if the University’s CLASA page is working, here is a shortcut to photos and letters of Fr. Carney, part of the Carney Archive collection (click on the grey circles near the bottom of the page).
Additionally, Joseph Mulligan, S.J., a co-founder and Advisory Board member of CLASA, has created several documentaries about Fr. Carney, and he has posted them on his you tube channel, josephmulligan1 (along with many interviews that Fr. Mulligan has conducted with key persons involved in liberation theology in Latin America and the U.S., and many of his own lectures which are very informative). Here are links to the documentaries directly about Fr. Carney:
