The Titan Winter Blast, Detroit Mercy’s signature winter celebration, returns Saturday, Jan. 25. Join students, employees, alumni, friends and neighbors from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Student Fitness Center as we turn up the heat with homemade chili, toasty drinks and Titan camaraderie.
Festivities include the popular Chili Cook Off, a casual buffet featuring National Coney Island coney dogs, an open bar featuring selections from Eastern Marketing Brewing Co., indoor s’mores stations, live music, games and more.
After the tailgate, head to Calihan Hall to root for the Detroit Mercy men’s basketball team as they host UIC at 1 p.m. Fifteen Titan greats will be honored for their induction into the University’s athletic Hall of Fame, and the Chili Cook Off winner will be announced after halftime.
Pre-register for admission by Jan. 13 to receive the lowest ticket cost. Regular admission is $20 ($25 after Jan. 13), student admission is $5 ($10 after Jan. 13) and children 10 and under are free.
Admission includes food, beer and wine bar, all activities and a ticket to the men’s basketball game.
After the celebration, make your way over to Calihan Hall to cheer our Men’s Basketball Team to victory over the UIC Flames. Chili Cook-off winners will be announced after half-time.
