The Titan Equity Nourish Network (TENN) is hosting its annual pumpkin composting drive on Sunday, Nov. 7 and Monday, Nov. 8 at the main entrance of the McNichols Campus.
Every year after Halloween, more than one billion pounds of pumpkins end up landfills across the nation.
Drop off used pumpkins from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday and 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday to help reduce the waste of pumpkins in landfills. Guests can enter through the main entrance gate off McNichols near Fairfield or through the main entrance and proceed to the back corner of the parking lot to the left of the main entrance. The event is open to the Detroit Mercy community and beyond.
TENN is hosting the drive along with partner Midtown Composting. The drive is being hosted to help lead the community towards a more sustainable one that prioritizes reducing, reusing and recycling.
Fresh cider will be provided for a suggested donation to support TENN.
