The English Department at Detroit Mercy’s first Creative Writing Collective (CWC) of the 2022-23 school year is set for Tuesday, Sept. 20 from 4-5:30 p.m. at Room 101 of the Briggs Building.
Professor Michael Lauchlan leads the discussion during the first CWC, drawing inspiration from photographs. Using a photo of family or friends on phones, you’ll write in the voice of someone in the photo that you know well. You will explore the nuances of “voice” and may end up with a first-person narrative or a persona poem.
All members of the Detroit Mercy community — students, alumni, staff, faculty and administrators — are welcome! No writing experience is necessary, just an interest in exploring and developing your creative inclinations.
With any questions or to be added to the Creative Writing Collective mailing list, please email email@example.com.
