Stop by the McNichols Campus Library on Wednesday, April 10 from 12-2 p.m. to celebrate Library Week with the Detroit Mercy Libraries and their staff. Librarians and library staffers will be on hand passing out slices of cake, or until the treats run out, as part of National Library Week activities.

To celebrate the Advent and Christmas seasons, the McNichols Campus Library is exhibiting four oil paintings by Detroit artist Helen Klisz Dudzinski (1910-2003). These Christmas-themed paintings depict holiday traditions as Dudzinski remembered them as a young girl in post-World War I Poland, at the time of a newly independent Poland during the Second Polish Republic.
The McNichols Campus Library will hold its third annual Holiday Pop-Up Shop fundraiser Tuesday, Nov. 28 through Friday, Dec. 1 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day in the lobby of the Library.

Maurice Greenia, Jr. ’76 (a.k.a Maugre), a longtime McNichols Campus library assistant, poet and Detroit-based multimedia artist, currently has his latest work on display through Saturday, Jan. 28 at the Detroit Contemporary in Midtown.
The McNichols Campus Library’s second annual Holiday Pop-up Shop wrapped up on Friday, Dec. 9 and was a huge success, raising more than $2,000. All of the proceeds went to support The Hive, Detroit Mercy’s student-run, on-campus food pantry for students.

Fr. Edward Dowling, S.J., an Engineering professor at University of Detroit for decades, kept an expansive, in-depth and world-famous maritime collection of Great Lakes ships. It’s now housed at the McNichols Campus Library.
To honor David’s life and contributions to the University and library world, funds are being raised to dedicate a tree in his name on the McNichols Campus.
