Detroit Mercy’s Employee Suggestion Form

In response to the recommendations provided by you during the Detroit Mercy Employee Satisfaction Survey the university has developed an online Employee Suggestion Form. If you attended the Colleague Development Day session you are aware this tool was coming. We appreciate all of your feedback and are excited to provide employees a way to submit their ideas.

Detroit Mercy professor receives $17,000 grant for film on restoration of Hamtramck Negro League field

Detroit Mercy Professor of Communication Studies Jason Roche received a $17,088 grant from the Michigan Arts and Culture Council (MACC). The grant will help fund production of a documentary film about the remarkable history and current restoration of Hamtramck Stadium.

Cable upgrades made for resident and McNichols Campus TVs

Throughout the summer, the University upgraded the McNichols Campus cable TV service to an all-High Definition solution for our resident students and various locations across the campus. Along with the new service came a few in-house channels showcasing local content as well as digital signage content. These channels are located at the bottom of our channel line-up.

Detroit Mercy alum commissions sculpture to honor University’s mission

Detroit Mercy alumnus Thomas Page ’71, ’76 recently commissioned a sculpture to honor and reflect the University’s Jesuit and Mercy foundations, traditions and values while paying homage to the institution’s bright future. An unveiling of this sculpture will take place during the University’s Homecoming.

DCDC takes small steps, creates big impact for Detroit youth

Thanks to a grant received from The Kresge Foundation and partnerships with Grow Detroit’s Young Talent and Urban Neighborhood Initiatives, the Detroit Mercy School of Architecture & Community Development’s nonprofit community design organization, Detroit Collaborative Design Center, was able to continue to give back, this time through a six-week high school summer internship program. 

Alumna plays featured role in Army advertising campaign

Front and center screen: A young woman in military fatigues is in charge, giving orders to groups of service members in a command center. Confident and no-nonsense — she is clearly a leader.
